Dragon Quest Treasures

During the most recent Nintendo Direct Mini, a new Dragon Quest game was announced — Dragon Quest Treasures! This game is a spinoff from the main series but looks like it can be an excellent addition to a stellar JRPG series.

This game does follow Mia and Erik from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, but the story takes place during their childhood, before the events of Dragon Quest XI. Mia and Erik find themselves in a different world from the Dragon Quest series: Draconia. In Draconia, Mia and Erik venture to become legendary treasure hunters and collect monster companions as they travel the world searching for the best treasure. Monsters don’t just serve as extra characters in battle for this game — they help the player reach new areas. You can bounce on a slime to reach a higher area or hang-glide to a far off area using a Drakee. As you collect more treasure, you can return to your base and expand it, allowing for the collecting of even greater treasures.

The game itself is made by Square Enix and has a release date on the Nintendo Switch December 9th of this year. This game has the potential to be a lot of fun for Dragon Quest fans!
